TrekVerse Updates & Changes
I know that most of you are anxious to get back on TrekVerse, but rest assured that we are doing our best and working our hardest to get this mud up to standards.
So, without further to do, listed below are items of changes and updates that have been going on:
- Driver Code
Slow and mysterious work...Zortek isn't announcing what he is doing to the driver,
but there have been substancial changes that has cause others of us to have to modify lib code to keep up.
- Space Code
Zortek has completed the core code for navigation, engineering, and airlocks.
There seems to be a delay in the tactical code as the fourth revision is slow in arriving.
- Combat System
Foundation code for the new combat system is completed.
Zortek is now working on fleshing out the critical hit daemons and testing for gross errors.
- Standard Code
Zortek is breathing a sigh of releaf now.
The bulk of the core changes are complete and are now undergoing the dreaded cleanup and documentation work.
Over 10,000 lines of new code have been added to replace trash inherited from TMI/NM.
There is nothing like bringing a knife to a phaser fight! :-P
- Skills System
Zortek has completed another phase of the skills system and is almost done.
Core skill system is implimented...but now there are over 200 doc files that need to be written to document all the skills.
Zortek has all the skill descriptions in two or three HUGE files and they just need to be sorted out and broken down into individual files.
- Cargo System
Purdy is still working on revamping the cargo system to shift from actual crate objects to virtual arrays.
The cargo system is moving to version 2.0 code and undergoing significant upgrade to account for forward growth potential.
- Organization Code
Little has changed with the core organization code that some may remember, but this is due to the priority it has been assigned.
I would expect to hear some developments coming out in this area relatively soon, now that much of the core standards have been rewritten.
- Character Generation Sequence
Zortek has completed the new character generation sequence.
It now accounts for and allows custom assignment for all 10 stats. ALL NM/TMI core stat/login/setter code was discarded.
Character classes have been implimented and all basic documentation has been written. ALL NM/TMI class code was discarded.
Races have been implimented. ALL the NM/TMI race code was discarded.
The death room is still awaiting an overhaul.
